Blue Lapis Ocean Gemstone World Globe with Silver Stand

Brand new and in perfect condition, this unique gemstone globe has been painstakingly handcrafted by the most talented artists using over 30 different semi-precious gemstones from around the world. The ocean part of the globe is made from a large amount of pulverized Lapis mixed with epoxy and carefully poured in a complex and costly process that requires precise temperature control. The result is a stunning and dramatic display of hand-crafted stone work.

This globe features a beautiful ornate, 3-leg heavy Silver stand where the globe has been securely mounted. At the base of the stand, there is a precise glass-topped brass compass that complements the overall design of the globe. Each country on the globe is inlaid with a different stone, individually cut, ground, and polished to fit perfectly with the adjacent pieces. The globe is made from a variety of semi-precious stones including lapis lazuli, mother of pearl, amethyst, African jade, tiger's eye, jasper, turquoise, purple quartz, onyx, unakite, abalone, and green marble.

Thin ribbons of polished brass represent the latitude and longitude lines on the globe, embedded carefully throughout the surface. It takes ten individual steps and over 500 hours of labor to create each of these exquisite pieces. The globe is made with semi-gemstones sourced from all corners of the globe and features a heavy zinc alloy metal frame that will never rust. The surface is protected with acrylic resin for longevity.

Measuring 6 inches in diameter (150mm), this globe is decorated with expensive fine white and colorful Australian MOP shells. Due to the hand-cut, glued, pasted, and polished nature of the craftsmanship, minor imperfections such as spelling errors, uneven polishes, surface lines, or small amounts of loose stone dust inside the globe may be present, but these are not considered defects.

These gemstone globes are primarily made for collection and decoration purposes, rather than for serious map use.
